Digital Dentistry – High technology applied to dentistry

Digital dentistry and the use of advanced technologies are already a reality in dentistry. The ImplArt Dental Clinic is always investing in technologies that make computer-planned treatments not only faster and more precise, but also more comfortable.

Digital Dentistry – Discover the advantages of using computers in dental treatments

3D tooth printer

3D printers are very versatile, because they are able to build objects of various shapes according to a three-dimensional digital design. Prostheses and dental restorations are also being made using this concept at Clinica Dentaria ImplArt.

We have the two main 3D tooth printers developed in the world: Cerec from the German company Sirona (including the most up-to-date version of the system, Cerec Primemill), and Ceramill Motion II from Austria’s AmannGirrbach. They have robotic arms that mill the chosen dental material (which can be porcelain, ceramic, zirconia, etc.) until it acquires the shape of the computer-designed restoration.

The result is a piece made very quickly, completely customized to the patient’s needs, with perfect color and fit. It is also possible to make an identical copy of the shape of a prosthesis that the patient is already used to, but which needs to be replaced because it has suffered a fracture or was made with unsightly material (metal or stained resin).

Digital smile project

We use modern digital dentistry software to design computerized dental treatments. With the help of these programs, we can design aesthetic dental restorations, crowns, dental contact lenses and even full dentures on implants.

We also design orthodontic treatment by simulating tooth movement and planning dental implant treatment. The aim of the digital smile project is to carry out a treatment that seeks to harmonize the functionality and aesthetics of the smile.

We create restorations and prostheses with customized shapes and colors for each patient.

Intraoral scanner

The intraoral scanner is a high-precision camera that captures intraoral images, i.e. of the teeth and gums. These images are transferred to a computer which creates a three-dimensional digital mold of the dental arches, the basis for planning the entire treatment.

With digital modeling, our team is able to design restorations and prostheses according to each patient’s needs, even mimicking the shades of neighboring teeth.

For the patient, this type of molding is much more comfortable and faster, unlike the old putty molds. Computer modeling also avoids errors in dental prostheses made with conventional putty molds.

Computer-guided surgery

Computer-guided total implant surgery is a technique that allows for less invasive, precise and comfortable implant surgeries. It eliminates the need to make large cuts and sutures in the gums, thus making the post-operative period smoother and the recovery quicker.

The main purpose of this feature is to provide the patient with greater comfort, both during the surgical process and in the post-operative period. Find out more by clicking here.

Computerized dental aesthetics – Digital Pre-treatment planning

Computerized dental aesthetics uses computerized programs for digital smile planning that have certainly helped dentistry. They are used to plan and simulate various dental treatments, including implants, dental contact lenses and fixed prostheses. They make it possible to design completely personalized treatments.

Predictable results with digital dental treatment planning

As a result, they increase the patient’s understanding of the stages of their treatment, thus aligning expectations with the proposed treatment, and above all allow the dentist to have greater predictability of results.

With computerized dental treatment planning, the dentist can design crowns, restorations, aesthetic treatments, dental contact lenses as well as plan the placement of dental implants.

The purpose of digital smile planning is to create a personalized treatment, seeking the harmony of the smile, as well as avoiding unnecessary procedures and consequently making treatment faster, more comfortable and more accurate.

Now, with the latest Cerec Primemill milling machine, the results are even more precise and more detailed.

Computerized dental aesthetics (Smile Design)

A great feature of computerized dental treatment planning programs is image overlay. This involves positioning the digital plan over the patient’s photo, making it easier for the patient to understand their treatment before they even start.

Digital smile design begins with capturing the patient’s oral images using an intraoral scanner. These images are transformed into a computerized 3D model of the dental arches.

In this way, the dentist visualizes the initial state and designs crowns, restorations or dental contact lenses to solve various problems that compromise the aesthetics and harmony of the smile.

Intraoral scanning for digital smile planning

Some cases that can be planned on a computer:

  • Increase in the length or volume of one or more teeth.
  • Aligning asymmetrical teeth
  • Making restorations for broken or decayed teeth
  • Making dental contact lenses
  • Harmonization of teeth with facial biotype
  • Even tooth shade
  • Replacing unsightly restorations with porcelain restorations
  • Making metal-free zirconia abutments and prostheses

The dental treatments planned on the computer also allow for quick dental treatments in the Day Clinic (or Dental Spa – intensive care modality).

Digital smile planning with dental implants

Digital planning of dental implants helps to ensure that the treatment result is tailored to the patient’s needs. It also helps to ensure that the treatment is efficient and as minimally invasive as possible, thus avoiding surgical accidents (such as hitting sensitive structures).

Planning begins with a computerized tomography scan. In this sense, the three-dimensional images of the tomography allow the implant dentist to know details such as the volume and dimensions of the bone in order to determine the best positions for the implants and the choice of implants with dimensions suited to the needs of each patient.

The dentist also has the option of ordering a surgical guide, which is made based on the information from the CT scan. The surgical guide acts as a template, with the exact indications of where the perforations should be made.

As a result, unnecessary cuts and punctures are avoided, meaning treatment is less invasive and recovery is quicker and more comfortable.

cirurgia guiada cirurgia sem corte 50kb

At the same time, guided surgery makes it possible:

  • Prior surgical and prosthetic planning, resulting in a more precise procedure;
  • Safe flapless surgery and the possibility of immediate loading;
  • Respect for bone structures and the path of nerves and vessels;
  • A reduction in the indication for bone grafting surgeries, as this requires detailed prior planning of the case;
  • Planning aesthetic and functional procedures;
  • Better post-operative recovery;
  • Better communication between patient and dentist, contributing to greater trust during treatment.

Digital orthodontic treatment planning

Digital orthodontic treatment is fully computer simulated and planned using an intraoral scanner and specialized software. The intraoral scanner is used to capture precise images of the teeth and gums and thus create a three-dimensional color mold of the arches. The software uses these images to simulate the movement of the teeth to the desired position.

Models with the proposed final treatment can be 3D printed for verification if the orthodontist prefers. Digital molds can be used not only to plan orthodontic treatment with conventional braces, but also with braces in the form of aligner plates(Invisalign or Compass).

ImplArt Odontologia uses the main technologies ever developed for computerized dental treatment planning. From intraoral scanning to the execution of prostheses, restorations and aesthetic dental contact lenses on 3D printers.

More translucent and resistant cubic zirconia crowns

Translucent cubic zirconia is an evolution of conventional dental zirconia. Dental zirconia is increasingly being used as a material for making a dental crown or even for a fixed prosthesis on dental implants. Translucent Zirconia has certainly come to revolutionize the way dental prostheses are made, since it uses modern computer graphics resources to design the prostheses, and modern 3D milling machines to sculpt them. This makes treatment faster and more comfortable for the patient.

In addition, Zirconia is the most resistant material compared to other types of crowns and allows for results with a high degree of naturalness, being the most similar to the appearance of natural teeth.

Zirconia can also be used on implants, protocol prostheses and partial prostheses.

Why is dental zirconia an excellent material?

First and foremost, one of the greatest advantages of the Pure Zirconia dental crown is its strength and durability. In addition, its modern execution method, which doesn’t require the old mass moldings and only uses a 3D scanner, makes the treatment much more comfortable for the patient. It is therefore an excellent option for those who want metal-free treatment, a situation that is highly valued today with biological dentistry.

translucent cubic zirconia dental crown
Translucent cubic zirconia crown for molar tooth (bottom), with hole for screwing into dental implant

These zirconia structures can be used both for implant prostheses, types of crowns on implants and for crowns on natural teeth. One of the pioneering companies in the development of durable and aesthetic zirconia dental prostheses is the Austrian company AmannGirrbach. Now it is introducing a new type of dental ceramic: Zolid FX translucent cubic zirconia.

It is a fully biocompatible material used to make first-rate prosthetic crowns, not only single-unit, but also bridges of up to 3 units. The main characteristics of Zolid FX are its super-high translucency, high strength and long-term stability.

It is therefore a strong alternative to the already established lithium disilicate (glass ceramic), and can therefore be especially suitable for cases that require high porcelain crown strength. Cubic zirconia crowns can be installed both anteriorly with excellent aesthetics and posteriorly. They can also be used in dental implant treatment.

What is the manufacturing process like?

The Zolid FX cubic zirconia crown is made using computerized CAD/CAM equipment. It starts with milling the rough block on a 3D printer to the shape of the tooth. The zirconia crown is finished with the manual addition of colors and shading so that the crown has natural visual characteristics, like the neighboring teeth. The pure zirconia crown is super aesthetic and is up to 10 times stronger than ordinary (feldspatica) porcelain.

… After a dental implant, can I place the tooth on the same day? See here…

Translucent cubic zirconia crowns are suitable for bruxism patients due to their resistance

Bruxism is an oral functional disorder characterized by involuntary grinding or clenching of the teeth. The excessive force generated by bruxism can cause not only muscle and joint pain in simpler cases, but also the destruction of part of the tissues (bone and gum), enamel or the structure of the dental crown in more advanced cases.

It is important to remember that before your permanent porcelain crown is made, you will receive a temporary crown. This is used to check the aesthetics and chewability of the permanent crown.

However, bruxism can be just as damaging to the structures of prosthetic crowns made from certain materials. For this reason, there has always been a need to develop prostheses with increasingly resistant and stable materials, and at the same time aesthetic (without metals in the structure).

Meet the Ceramill Motion 2 3D tooth printer

The translucency and strength characteristics of Zolid FX are fundamental to making the prosthetic crown very comparable to natural teeth. The result is extremely aesthetic crowns and restorations with high strength and long-term stability.

ImplArt Dental Clinic only works with materials of the highest quality, developed by serious companies. For example, AmannGirrbach, which only introduces materials and equipment to the market after carrying out numerous tests and research.

Aesthetic oral rehabilitation – Specialist Clinic

Aesthetic oral rehabilitation is a treatment or set of dental procedures aimed at restoring the oral function and aesthetics of a person who is suffering from missing teeth and needs implants, or whose oral function is compromised by other dental problems that affect chewing, speech and the aesthetics of the smile.

Accordingly, depending on the case, single or partial dental implants can be carried out, or so-called total implants with a protocol prosthesis, which are implants for the entire arch. Porcelain crowns or zirconia crowns can be made, designed with modern computerized systems that allow patients to regain their confidence to smile, as well as their chewing function. It is important to note that dental implant surgery is simple, and allows for major transformations in the patient’s life.

Aesthetic oral rehabilitation: which procedures?

In addition, oral rehabilitation also aims to prevent other problems from arising in the future. A complete, better and well-articulated set of teeth will certainly prevent problems with the jaw, mandible and temporomandibular joints.

ImplArt specializes in prosthetics and restoring dental aesthetics

The ImplArt Dental Clinic has a team made up of the main areas of dentistry:

Day Clinic

The Day clinic is a type of service that carries out one or more dental treatments intensively. In this way, oral rehabilitation can be achieved in the shortest possible time (subject to assessment of the complexity of each case).

One of the main features of aesthetic oral rehabilitation is the porcelain dental crown

This is a dental reconstruction that aims to cover or encase a tooth that has had its structure compromised, or even after root canal treatment. Teeth with a root canal almost always need a reinforcing post to give the dental crown a better structure. The dental crown can be made from a number of porcelain options currently available.

In some cases, dental crowns can be better made in one day with the CEREC 3D dental prosthesis and crown in our clinic thanks to the technologies in our laboratories. Dental posts (cores) can be metal or aesthetic (zirconia or fiberglass).

Specialist dental clinic – Dental implants

A dental implant is a titanium or all-ceramic pin, in the case of Straumann‘s ceramic implant, which is surgically placed in the bone and has the function of replacing the root of a lost tooth. A fixed prosthesis is installed over the dental implant, which has the function and appearance of a tooth. It is a modern, simple treatment that aims to bring comfort to the patient.

The Implart Dental Clinic is a dental clinic specializing in dental implants, and therefore has the most modern options for those who need oral rehabilitation.

There are currently several types of fixed prosthesis on implants, including modern 3D computerized pure Zirconia crowns and Cerec porcelain, to be installed on dental implants. In this way, they use innovative computerized resources with 3D intraoral scanners and milling machines to create more precise and aesthetically natural prostheses.

Quality of life and self-esteem back with dental implants

What is a dental implant?

Treatment with dental implants aims to restore masticatory function as well as the aesthetics of the smile, which certainly gives people back their quality of life and self-esteem. After the dental implant is placed, its surface interacts with the bone, a phenomenon called osseointegration.

In short, it is responsible for the stability of fixed dental prostheses, offering the wearer security and comfort when chewing, speaking and smiling. This experience is completely different from using a mobile prosthesis, the so-called dentures, which for example can cause discomfort, move around and even hurt.

Dental implants: who can have them?

In principle, dental implants are indicated for almost all people who suffer from the absence of one, some or all of the teeth in an arch. Each person is assessed individually to determine the most suitable treatment.

The good news is that the ImplArt Dental Clinic, as an implant clinic, has the expertise and knowledge of the most modern surgical techniques to deal with almost all situations of missing teeth, even in people who have little bone volume. For these cases, there are short implants from the Swiss brand Straumann.

The new Standard Plus Short (SPS) implants from Straumann Implantes are the shortest pins available on the market (they are only 4mm long) and are indicated for patients who, for whatever reason, find themselves with limited bone availability.

Single implant, partial implant or total implant

A single tooth implant is used to replace a tooth that has been lost, usually due to an accident, root fracture, unsuccessful root canal treatment or decay. This tooth can almost always be replaced quickly using the immediate loading technique.

It is recommended that this tooth replacement be done as soon as possible to prevent bone loss, as losing a tooth and not having a dental implant can lead to bone loss and the movement of neighboring teeth, which can be aggravated by the absence of a tooth .

Advantages of single tooth implants:

  • Neighboring teeth remain intact
  • The new crown is attached directly to the dental implant, which makes it possible to floss like a natural tooth
  • Excellent aesthetic and functional results
  • Ease of treatment, as the prosthetic components are prefabricated
  • Unaffected by caries and infiltration
  • It is possible to place a temporary crown immediately after implant placement (immediate loading)
  • The installation of the implant prevents or stops bone resorption.

Losing multiple teeth can affect your ability to chew, as well as the beauty of your smile. The best option for replacing several teeth is undoubtedly to have dental implants fitted and a dental prosthesis fixed.

Partial implants are recommended for people who have lost some of their teeth. This treatment is a much more efficient alternative to a conventional bridge, as it offers better aesthetic results (there are no metal staples) and prevents bone resorption.

Total implants are recommended for people who have lost all their teeth. The loss is usually due to periodontal disease and inadequate oral hygiene. The implants are strategically distributed throughout the dental arch – ImplArt carries out the computerized planning of the guided total implant surgery.

The total implant treatment is able to bring the patient the incredible sensation of chewing and speaking safely and comfortably, as a fixed prosthesis that doesn’t move or hurt. The prosthesis will typically have a layer of artificial gum, but there are cases where the prosthesis can be made without the gum.

The presence or absence of gingiva in the prosthesis depends on various factors such as the resulting final aesthetics, bone and gum loss in the area, technical feasibility and dentist/patient preference.

Immediate loading – Rapid loading for implants

Due to scientific advances, it is now possible, in selected cases, to enter the office without teeth and leave at the end of the day with all your teeth fixed on dental implants (temporary prosthesis).

This technology, known as immediate loading, provides patients with great satisfaction due to its rapid results. In principle, immediately loaded implants can be used in the following cases:

The dental implant technique with immediate loading can be carried out when bone quantity and quality are normal and also when occlusal habits are favorable for the procedure to be carried out so as not to overload the site with chewing.

Therefore, the immediate loading technique depends on certain conditions of the patient’s dental arch and general oral health. These conditions are assessed individually during a consultation.

Fixed implant prosthesis – types of materials

Implant treatment is the main form of aesthetic and functional rehabilitation for patients who have lost their teeth. The absence of one or more teeth compromises chewing, speech and the aesthetics of the smile, so a fixed prosthesis on implants is capable of restoring security and self-esteem to the edentulous person.

Rehabilitation basically goes through 3 relevant phases: the placement of dental implants, the healing phase (in which the patient uses a temporary prosthesis) and the finalization with the fixing of a definitive prosthesis on implants. We have a variety of materials that can be used to make a dental prosthesis:

protese zirconia pura 50kb

Pure porcelain dentures (metal free)

It is an opaque white ceramic structure called zirconia, covered with an aesthetic porcelain sculpted to the shape of the teeth. It is a new and technologically innovative material, as the prosthesis is completely designed on a computer and made with the help of electronic scanners and 3D printers.

It is the material that offers the best aesthetic results because it does not contain metals. Porcelain has very similar characteristics to natural teeth, including shade, translucency and strength.

metal ceramic total prosthesis for dental implants

Metal-ceramic dentures (porcelain + metal)

This is a prosthesis with an internal metal structure (titanium, Ni-Cr or Cr-Co) and an aesthetic porcelain finish that is hand-sculpted in the shape of the teeth. Its advantage is the resistance and aesthetics of the porcelain, which leaves the prosthesis with an aesthetic and beauty similar to natural teeth.

It has a small disadvantage compared to pure porcelain prostheses, which is the possibility of a grayish line appearing at the level of the gums, if the patient suffers some gum recession over time, which can lead to an aesthetic compromise in the smile.

However, it has advantages over resin prostheses, such as better durability and resistance to wear, as well as no color changes over time.

protese metaloplastica resina 50kb

Acrylic Resin (resin + metal)

Also known as the Bränemark protocol prosthesis, this model has an internal metal structure and an aesthetic resin finish. The teeth are made of resin and you can choose the color, shape and size of the teeth.

This material has one disadvantage compared to the previous ones, which is the possibility of color change (yellowing) over time. The choice of prosthesis material should be made jointly by the dentist and patient. Watch the video on prosthetic materials for dental implants:

Do dental implants hurt?

The dental implant procedure is easier than you might think! Advances in techniques mean that dental implant surgery today is less invasive, avoiding excess tissue damage, pain and discomfort.

During the surgery, the patient feels no pain because it is performed under local anesthesia. In addition, ImplArt uses techniques that reduce discomfort during surgery and make the recovery period more peaceful.

One of the techniques is that ImplArt Odontologia performs computer-guided dental implant surgery. This avoids unnecessary cuts and damage to bone and gum tissue, even with full arch all on 4 implants.

ImplArt also uses Piezosurgery surgical ultrasound, which cuts through hard tissues such as bone and preserves soft tissues such as gums, nerves, membranes and blood vessels.

This system allows the surgeon greater surgical precision and better visibility during surgery.

Price and value of dental implant treatments and dental aesthetics │ Dental implant average price

We often receive calls, emails and messages from people asking about the price and value of dental implants and dental treatment . We always try to explain that these questions can only be answered through a dental consultation.

In short, there are three main reasons for this: the first is that the Code of Ethics of the Federal Council of Dentistry prohibits dentists from carrying out consultations in person. The second is that dental treatments can only be indicated after a careful assessment of the patient.

The good news is that for those who live far away, abroad or in other states, there is the option of a preliminary online consultation.

There are numerous factors that influence the planning of a treatment. There are also various options for materials and techniques that influence the composition of a budget. In addition, a treatment that may be suitable for one person may not be the most appropriate for another.

The third is the importance of being assessed by a professional dentist. Often patients think they have a dental problem and believe that a particular treatment may be the most appropriate, but in reality it may be something else.

The dentist is the professional qualified to look at oral health in general, as well as giving the necessary recommendations to keep teeth beautiful and healthy throughout life. The qualified implant dentist is also able to recognize, in most cases, the types of dental implants that exist by evaluating the panoramic radiograph.

We at ImplArt believe that dental treatment goes far beyond a simple monetary value.

There are important factors that influence a cost-benefit ratio, such as the health and well-being that healthy teeth provide, improved self-esteem, patient comfort during procedures, the relationship of trust between patient and dentist, and our empathy for the patient, who often brings with them anxieties, expectations, fears and even trauma from previous experiences. What do you think your smile is worth?

Is there a charge for the first consultation?

Yes, we charge for the first consultation. The patient will be assessed by the director of the dental clinic, Dr. Roberto Markarian, who has extensive experience in treatments for functional and aesthetic oral rehabilitation, with dental implants and dental prostheses.

If necessary, the patient may be asked to undergo some radiological examinations to help with diagnosis and treatment planning.

For your convenience, some of the main dental exams can be carried out in the clinic (at a separate cost). If you already have previous exams, please bring all recent ones (up to 1 year old) to your appointment, as they will be of great help.

My dentist doesn’t charge, why do you?

We follow the rules of the CRO, the Regional Council of Dentistry, which specifies that dental services cannot be free, in the same way as medical consultations. The culture in dentistry is changing and the number of dentists who charge for consultations is growing.

The dentist who will be attending you has studied at university and takes frequent postgraduate courses , so their time is valuable, just as it is in other health professions.

Do you accept any dental plans?

At the moment we do not accept dental insurance or any type of plan. Most dental plans don’t offer cover for dental prosthesis, implants or aesthetic procedures, which are precisely the focus of our clinic.

We only accept plans for the reimbursement system or free choice. There are companies that offer their employees this system, in which they will later receive the amounts paid. There is some bureaucracy involved, but we can help.

Computerized metal-free porcelain crown

The metal-free porcelain crown provides aesthetics combined with strength and durability

What is a porcelain crown?

A porcelain crown is an artificial tooth – a dental prosthesis – that resembles in form and function a natural tooth that has been damaged. Porcelain crowns can also be grouped together to make fixed bridges or fixed porcelain prostheses. Here at the ImplArt Dental Clinic in Brazil, we make metal-free crowns using completely computerized systems. We therefore offer our patients the most modern systems and the most advanced results.

What is dental porcelain?

Porcelain is a material that resembles glass and is used to reconstruct teeth. It has a natural color and high resistance. It is also called dental ceramic.

Types and materials of porcelain crowns

In short, there are different types of materials used to make porcelain crowns: the older materials use metal and the more modern ones are metal-free. Porcelain crowns with metal internal structures are called metal-ceramic and crowns with a white structure such as zirconia are called metal-free.

There are also crowns that do not use internal structures and are made using computerized methods. In addition, covering a destroyed natural tooth with a ceramic crown is essential for oral health, as it will restore the patient’s chewing ability and even allow them to eat hard foods.

The advantage of the metal-free porcelain crown is that it is more aesthetic, since pure porcelain is a white material. As a result, the structure is not visible inside the crown even in brightly lit environments. The new generations of porcelain crowns are made using cad/cam methods according to computerized designs and don’t even require layers of internal reinforcement like metal and zirconia. They are made from a single (monolithic) material. These are digital, metal-free porcelain crowns whose main advantages are aesthetics and speed of production.

Translucent zirconia

Another innovative material for making a new porcelain crown is translucent zirconia, a material that is up to 10 x stronger than ordinary porcelain crowns. For this reason, they are highly recommended for the oral rehabilitation of back teeth and in patients with bruxism. Oral rehabilitation with crowns can be carried out on implants, on roots with root canal treatment and on natural teeth without root canal treatment.

coroa sobre dente 12kb

Fitting dental crowns requires preparation (tooth wear) so that the crown fits correctly. The main digital technique we use is Cerec 3D, an intraoral molding system with scanners and robotic tooth production.

Before a permanent prosthesis is made, we will make a temporary prosthesis so that you don’t lose your tooth. After the rehabilitation treatment, you will be able to lead a normal life, eat hard food and clean your teeth every day with a toothbrush and dental floss. The ImplArt Clinic specializes in dental prostheses and can offer you a porcelain crown with state-of-the-art technology.

Porcelain crown: advantages and indications

Porcelain crowns are fixed dental prostheses that mimic the shape and appearance of natural teeth. When a tooth is badly damaged, it may be necessary to have root canal treatment and a porcelain crown. By Dr. Roberto Markarian, graduated dentist and specialist in dental prostheses and dental implants in São Paulo, Brazil.

What is dental porcelain?

Choosing the ideal dental prosthesis can lead to confusion when faced with a number of options. Fixed dental prostheses must meet both functional and aesthetic needs. These are the main objectives that determine the choice of the ideal material. Before choosing the material, it is first necessary to understand the differences between the types of porcelain dental crowns. The main one is the reinforcement technique, which is the part required for masticatory efforts. Understand the differences better:

Metal-ceramic crown

The porcelain dental crown is built on a metal structure. It is durable and aesthetic, and can be used on both anterior and posterior teeth. However, in some cases, it may not achieve the best aesthetic result on anterior teeth, because the dark metal inside the prosthesis can leave the crown looking darkened when subjected to intense lighting.

Porcelain crown with metal-free zirconia

This is a porcelain crown mounted on a white zirconia structure, which is therefore metal-free. It is highly durable and has excellent aesthetic results, as the white zirconia of the internal structure leaves the crown with a natural appearance very similar to the natural tooth. The porcelain crown with zirconia can also be fixed on dental implants and is completely computer-engineered and made on a 3D tooth printer. It is also an indication for people with metal allergies.

Pure porcelain crown

It has excellent aesthetic results and great resistance. The material used is lithium disilicate or feldspathic ceramic. Because this ceramic is very translucent, it is not normally suitable for use on darkened teeth or on metal posts.

How much does a porcelain crown cost?

Treatment prices can only be given after a face-to-face dental consultation. This is because the patient needs to be thoroughly assessed so that our team can understand their functional and aesthetic needs. Only then can we recommend the most appropriate treatment. In many cases, our team will offer a number of treatment options and respective outcome expectations, and the patient is free to choose.

Porcelain crowns can be made quickly in our clinic using our Day Clinic method for porcelain crowns. At the end of the porcelain crown treatment, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene by flossing daily and brushing regularly.

If you are far away, it is possible to have an online consultation, also known as a teleconsultation. This preliminary consultation takes place with our clinical director, Dr. Roberto Markarian, who will be able to make a preliminary assessment of your case and make recommendations for your treatment. This also applies to those who need dental implants, as we can plan your dental implant surgery remotely.

Complete dental implants improve chewing, self-esteem and aesthetics

A complete dental implant is a fixed dental prosthesis on implants that makes up for the absence of all the teeth and improves chewing, speech and the look of the smile. It is called a protocol prosthesis and aims to re-establish the patient’s chewing function by inserting a dental implant in the upper or lower arch.

There are currently many types of protocol prosthesis to be installed on dental implants. Among them is translucent zirconia, which is the most modern option because it uses a computerized system for its execution, which improves precision, speeds up results and allows for superior aesthetics combined with high resistance.

The dental implant, on the other hand, can be made of titanium, or even ceramic, in Straumann‘s modern version, Pure Ceramic, or even the fast-healing titanium version, Slactive. There is also a national dental implant option, Neodent.

Complete dental implants to improve chewing and self-esteem

We are currently working with materials that are very comparable to natural teeth, both in terms of function and aesthetics. Patients who have lost their teeth for various reasons can have consequences that affect their health and well-being.

The absence of natural teeth (edentulism) hinders the ability to chew food, compromising the intake of essential nutrients for health and quality of life.

In addition, the person with total edentulism has their social life affected because they can’t smile and speak confidently in front of other people. As a result, they tend to become reclusive and have low self-esteem.

Undeniably, treatment with implants improves the patient’s quality of life, raising their self-esteem and allowing them to eat comfortably.

Advantages of a fixed prosthesis over a removable prosthesis

The fact that the prosthesis is fixed on implants makes it more comfortable and safer for the wearer to chew and speak than a mobile prosthesis, which can sometimes become maladjusted and move or even hurt.

Implants can be placed in different ways, as it varies according to the patient’s condition, especially if they have been edentulous for many years.

The most common method is to place six titanium implant pins in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw. A temporary prosthesis is also always planned so that the patient doesn’t lose teeth.

After the healing period (which varies according to each case), dental prostheses can be attached to the implants for complete oral rehabilitation.

Titanium implants replace lost tooth roots, while prostheses are similar in shape, color and strength to natural dental crowns.

Natural result of implants for all teeth

The complete dental implant is very similar to natural human teeth. As a result, the patient’s smile is once again harmonious and difficult for other people to distinguish as a prosthesis.

Social interaction is restored and the patient has more confidence to smile and speak. When the patient receives a complete dental implant, they are able to chew food that they couldn’t chew before.

This is a way of ensuring a richer, more nutritious diet and that the food reaches the stomach properly prepared for digestion. ImplArt Odontologia specializes in dental implants, in titanium or ceramic, and modern computerized prostheses, Zirconia or Cerec porcelain, in addition to traditional methods.

Laser teeth whitening – Day Clinic

Laser teeth whitening is a treatment often used in our Dayclinic cases because it greatly improves the appearance of the teeth and is quick to perform. Teeth whitening can be used in conjunction with other aesthetic treatments such as cosmetic dental lenses. It can also be used in rehabilitative treatments with dental crowns and even dental implants, where fixed dental prostheses will be required, and the tone of the smile can be modified as a whole at this point.

Laser teeth whitening is one of the aesthetic procedures that ImplArt Odontologia can perform in its Day Clinic

Over time, some of our habits can leave our teeth yellowed or stained. Ingesting highly pigmented foods or drinks, such as coffee, wine, beet, açaí, among others, can stain teeth.

Smoking is also one of the enemies of white teeth, as nicotine also stains teeth. In addition, poor brushing – which would be a better way of removing food pigments from the teeth – can also lead to the accumulation of plaque on the teeth, which makes them look yellow.

A beautiful, uniform smile makes up dental aesthetics, while yellowed and stained teeth can affect a person’s self-esteem.

A naturally whiter smile, like the ones seen on celebrities, is a common desire. The best part is that this dream is possible, thanks to the laser teeth whitening procedure, which is certainly a great ally for dental aesthetics.

How does laser teeth whitening work?

ImplArt Odontologia uses the most modern laser whitening techniques safely and efficiently. The best whitening is done with the combination of hydrogen peroxide-based gel and the laser light that activates the gel.

The procedure safely and effectively removes pigments and stains from tooth enamel and dentin. Some people need more than one session and this will be determined after an assessment of each case.

Indications for whitening

Laser teeth whitening treatment is suitable for most people who are bothered by yellow or stained teeth.

There are even techniques for children over the age of 10. The indication is made after a thorough assessment of the general condition of the patient’s mouth (teeth, gums, tongue and mucous membranes) by the ImplArt professional.

Advantages of laser whitening?

  • Faster results than home whitening
  • Causes no or little tooth sensitivity

Implanting several teeth at the same time

The loss of multiple teeth can certainly affect your ability to chew, as well as the beauty of your smile. The best option for replacing multiple teeth is certainly the placement of a multi-tooth implant, i.e. the placement of several implants and the attachment of a dental prosthesis. A multi-tooth implant can also be called a total implant or a protocol prosthesis.

Fixed prosthesis or implants with several teeth provide good chewing ability and aesthetics

It is certainly recommended that implant surgery be carried out as soon as possible after tooth loss. This prevents bone atrophy (progressive bone loss) from occurring. Implants for 3 teeth, 4 teeth or more have some advantages over other types of treatment.

Advantages of multi-tooth implant rehabilitation

  • Neighboring teeth remain intact
  • The prosthesis is attached to the implants, offering comfort and safety for the user to chew, smile and speak
  • Ease of treatment, as the prosthetic components are prefabricated (approximately six sessions)
  • Not affected by cavities and infiltrations
  • In specific cases, it is possible to place the provisional prosthesis immediately after implant placement (immediate loading)
  • The installation of the implant prevents or stops the bone atrophy that normally occurs after tooth loss.

Implants with 3 teeth, 4 teeth or more have some advantages over other types of treatment with removable prostheses. As an alternative to placing several implants, we only have techniques that use common removable prostheses, without the use of implants. However, the indication is made after evaluating each case.

Should I have several teeth implanted or wear dentures?

Multi-tooth dental implants are an alternative to conventional dentures for those who have lost many or all of their teeth. They consist of placing metal pins, usually titanium, in the jawbone or maxilla, which serve as a support for fixed dental prostheses. These prostheses can be made of materials such as porcelain or zirconia, which mimic the appearance of natural teeth.

Multi-tooth dental implants have many advantages over conventional dentures, which are supported by the gums and can come loose or cause wounds. That’s why we’ve listed some of these advantages below:

Aesthetics, comfort and safety: Dental implants are more natural, comfortable and safe than dentures, which can move or fall out. They allow the patient to smile, speak and chew with more confidence and without fear of losing the prosthesis.

Preservation of bone against resorption: Dental implants preserve the bone structure of the mouth, preventing the atrophy that occurs after tooth loss. Bone atrophy can cause problems such as gum resorption, changes to the shape of the face, difficulty adapting dentures and the loss of other teeth.

Improved chewing function: In addition, dental implants allow for better chewing, speech and taste perception. Conventional dentures can interfere with chewing, making digestion and nutrition difficult. They can also hinder speech, causing noises or difficulty in pronunciation. In addition, they can cover the palate, reducing taste sensitivity.

Durability and resistance: Dental implants are considered to be more durable and resistant to cavities and infiltrations than dentures. They are made of materials that do not wear out or deteriorate over time. They are also easier to clean, as they don’t need to be removed for cleaning.

Conclusions on getting several teeth implanted at ImplArt Dentistry Clinic

The loss of multiple teeth can affect chewing and the aesthetics of the smile. The ideal solution is to place dental implants to replace several teeth, allowing a fixed prosthesis to be attached.

Planning for dental implants – how is it done by the dentist

Improve your quality of life and self-esteem with dental implants

Dental implants must be planned by a specialist in order to achieve the desired success. Initially, when studying dental implants, examinations are carried out in order to:

What resources can dentists use to plan implants?

It is important to explain that the dentist uses photos, examinations and clinical assessment in an integrated manner for precise dental implant planning.

  1. Initial Photos: Photos of the mouth and smile at the start of treatment capture the oral anatomy and help to visualize the general condition of the mouth, including the position of adjacent teeth and facial aesthetics.
  2. Radiographic examinations: Panoramic radiographs and CT scans also offer a three-dimensional view, allowing bone quality to be assessed, anatomical structures to be identified and pathologies to be detected.
  3. Clinical Evaluation: Detailed intraoral examinations reveal more in-depth periodontal conditions, the presence of infections and specific characteristics of the oral tissue, providing crucial information for implant success.
  4. Precise measurements: Using specific measurement software, the professional assesses the thickness and height of the available bone, thus ensuring the proper selection of the implant.
  5. Virtual Planning: Specialized software allows for virtual simulations, making it easier to choose the ideal position for the implants, considering aesthetics and function.

The combination of these elements also allows the dentist to carry out personalized planning, increasing the predictability and success of the dental implant procedure.

Planning is important for successful dental implant treatment

Dental implants are performed in the dentist’s office under local anesthesia, with care and attention from the implant dentist. Even those who are afraid of the dentist can have bone implants without any problem. Titanium implants are placed inside the bone and you have to wait three to six months for osseointeraction (calcification of the implant in the bone).

Once healing has taken place, the patient can wear a temporary prosthesis which allows them to better maintain their daily activities and also prevents the process of bone resorption (when the area is left without teeth for a long time, it can lose bone volume). Also during this period, the dentist makes the molds for the fixed dental prosthesis that will be placed after the implants have osseointegrated.

Temporary prosthesis for dental implants – planning

Despite the initial discomfort due to the implants and also the temporary prosthesis, the patient should wear it most of the time to facilitate adaptation. At first, the patient may feel nauseous, produce more saliva than usual and their pronunciation may also be strange. Of course, any discomfort in the meantime is temporary and must be overcome in order to achieve the best possible result.

However, in some cases, the dentist may opt to carry out the immediate loading procedure, in which the temporary prosthesis is fixed immediately after the implants are placed. This takes a maximum of 72 hours and, like all treatments, must be planned in advance to avoid problems in the future.

Permanent fixed prosthesis for implants

Finally, a permanent prosthesis will be fixed a few months after the implants have healed and the person will experience a significant improvement in chewing, quality of life and the aesthetics of their smile. The materials for the permanent prosthesis can also be chosen by the patient together with the dentist.

There are several options for implant materials, especially in the case of full arches, the so-called protocol prosthesis. Contact our clinic or make an appointment if you have any questions about the treatment, average price or techniques. We’ll be happy to help you!
